Description: Gorgeous 28 oz porcelain pitcher/water jug by early Noritake (Morimura Brothers).This 175 pattern, also known as "White and Gold" and "Christmas Ball" , was in production since 1906 and is considered to be the longest running and most popular pattern of Noritake china. It features 24 kt gold encrusted scrolls and a "Christmas ornament shape" design on a creamy white background. It also features gilded bead work (moriage) within the design and along the rims. Noritake had many different styles in this 175 pattern, thispitcher being style #1.It's no wonder that this 175 pattern was one of the most popular and longest running, It is STUNNING! The 28 oz pitcher here is approximately 5 1/2" tall and bears the green backstamp withthe patent # 43061 Made in Japan, dating it to the 1921-1941 period.It is in really nice pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. There is some gold wear on the handle and along the bottom edge (see photos).Please keep in mind that you are buying an antique/vintage piece that will rarely be in perfect condition.
