Description: Netherlands Stamps Rare 5c milky blue pair with wide margins: SG 1h ;rectangular Franco Postmark: CV £220 Note:1) Thick paper, with clear central horn watermark (T2) when held up to the light or placed on a light table.2) Previous owner has identified the stamps as Positions 4 and 5 of Plate IV3) Both stamps have a: faint discontinuous inner frame line; Clear outer frame line which has been thickened (retouched) at base and both the top right and top left corners. Outside the main frame, the remnants of a thin discontinuous outermost frame line are visible. Serif [5] slightly tilted. The paper is without a surface tint. These are characteristics of Plate IV4) The Type D rectangular FRANCO postmark was used from 12 April 18615) The milky blue colour was only used in the 1860 edition of Plate IV. It was replaced by the Blue Plate V in May/June 1861.
