A scarce and engaging illustrated map of ancient Egyptian archaeology and other historical sites along the Nile, produced for tourists to the region. When fully folded-out, the map measures a total of 36 x 9" (3 feet long), and is oriented vertically from north to south, starting at the Mediterranean Sea, going past the 1st cataract of the Nile at Aswan, down to Abu Simbel and Wadi Halfa. The map is profusely illustrated with small lithographic images of the various historical and archaeological sites, including the Lighthouse at Alexandria, the Citadel at Cairo, Giza, Djoser's Stepped Pyramid at Sakkara, Ramses Colossus at Memphis, the Temple of Hathor at Dendera, the Temple at Luxor, the Colossi of Memnon at Thebes, the Philae Temple of Isis, and many others.
