Description: Here is a very rare Multi Speed Shutter which was made by the Multi Speed Shutter Co. in New York. At the time people sent there lenses to the company for them to mount them in their shutters. It is quite hard to find them today. I have no idea how it works but please assume it does not work. I was able to get the shutter blades to open and close moving one dial. The diaphragm also does work. The lens is unmarked as it originally was a brass lens which the company fitted in this shutter. The lens is more then likely a higher end lens but I don't know what it is. I did take pictures of the elements unscrewed from the shutter as maybe the look of the inner elements will clue someone into what the lens is. The lens has a focal length of approx 8" and it looked like it covered 5x7 and looked like it would do 8x10 but thats just from looking at the image on the ground glass of my camera. The glass is clean and clear. It DOES come with a brass mounting flange. I just had it off when I took the pictures. The outside diameter of the shutter body is approx 3 3/4". The lens elements have a diameter of approx 46mm. It's a very unusual lens so would look great on display on an antique camera.
