Description: This is a METAR weather status light that I made from a retired runway light. The light displays what the weather status is at a programmed airport. Green for VFR, Blue for MVFR, Red for IFR, Violet for LIFR and Yellow if wind is above a predefined value. It also has the ability to flash white if there is lightning or icing conditions. The base is hand made and is styled to look like a VOR symbol you would see on a map sectional. This was a proper retired FAA runway lamp. It is weathered as can be seen in the photos. Inside the outerlens is a fresnel lens. The unit will need WiFi to operate correctly. It will come with instructions on how to set up the WiFi. I will setup the airport of your choosing. This is just a novelty item and not meant for using to gauge actual flight conditions. This was a diy project not a retail item.
