Le Phare Repeater 14k Pocket Watch W/Chime W/Leather Case #72431 No Monogram

Description: Location: D-5ML This listing is from an exciting find from an estate sale! SOLD AS IS. This pocket watch is stamped 14k. It is rose gold, made in Switzerland by Le Phare (French for Lighthouse). Le Phare was the brand name for the Jean D'Eve manufacturing company, which produced fine quality pocket watches in Switzerland in the late 1800's. Jean D'Eve won several awards for watchmaking in the early 1900's and was so successful that by 1970s, it was the second largest Swiss manufacturer of chronographs! This particular pocket watch comes with its own custom-made black leather case and was made for the Russian market. That is why the days of the week and the months of the year aperture at 9 and 3 o'clock indications are given in Cyrille. The watch face is enamel with roman numbers. Le Phare is stamped with 14k on the front and back lid, with: N 72431, Repetition Chronographe, "Le Phare", Triple Quantieme, Phases de Lune is stamped inside with many hallmarks. The chime works (Listen in the video). The hands are ornate "Louis XIV" , Louis the 14th style. The chronograph hand is missing. There is a small dent on the outside of the case (see purple circle). This is repairable by a goldsmith. Watch should be overhauled by a watchmaker. The watch does not run at present, with the exception of the repeating chime function. The front lid doesn't quite stay shut. The crystal is also missing. There are no monogram or designs on either side. The pocket watch is 2-1/8" in diameter and 3-1/8" long, including the bail.
