The trunk retains its authentic character with a few rivets having come loose, as depicted in the photos, along with some scratches and signs of its rich military history. The trunk has been carefully cleaned, preserving its original appeal. Inside, the condition is remarkable, with only minor wear on the corners of the tray insert, as illustrated. The interior carries a subtle 'mothball' scent that isn't noticeable when the trunk is closed. Personally, I have kept this trunk in same condition as I found it aside from a deep cleaning with natural products. There is a stain and/or discoloration on the lid, as pictured. Its hard to say if that is removable or not. If you think it adds character - you may be the right buyer and future owner. There is a name written on the handles, and elsewhere on the trunk.
