Description: Fantastic old single bookend of a beautiful nude maiden or forest nymph made in the early 1900's by Kathodian Bronze Works (KBW) of New York City. This Art Nouveau styled sculpture is made of bronze clad metal (bronze cladding over a plaster interior), meticulously sculpted, and marked "© K.B.W." on the back. It dates from 1915-1918 (the years Kathodian Bronze Works was in business), and it's in great shape. There is a small crack on the bronze cladding near the bottom left side, but no missing pieces or breaks. This rare bookend stands 8" tall by 5" wide by 4.5" deep, and weighs 3.5 lbs. Kathodian bookends are among the most highly collectible bookends because of their rarity and top quality sculpture. Make this one yours.
