Description: JABO Odyssey MarbleCollector SeriesRare Green Apple FlamesMINT-Run Date: 6/2/10 This marble is from the famous JABO Odyssey run which had some of the most interesting swirl patterns of all runs. Some very high quality glass was used in this run and the most beautiful swirls were produced. The unusual green apple pigment was only evident on a few of these Odyssey marbles and this was a very special marble to the original investors of this famous run. Ed Garner (RIP) was gifted a group of these Green Apples by Ed Parsons (RIP). As the story goes, the only marble they liked better from this Odyssey run was the Weinrots (aka Purple People Eater). These are the anecdotes and urban legends that collectors love to hear. In my humble opinion, this breathes lives and real world excitement when sharing our hobby with friends and family. Special thanks to Sully for sharing this wonderful story. These Green Apple marbles have a wonderful translucent aspect to them. They are not completely opaque and not completely transparent...they are somewhere in between. You really have to see these to get the idea. Certainly, these would go straight into the keeper vault for most collectors. I hope you like this marble as much as I do...so cool. The one unusual feature of this JABO Odyssey Green Apple is the incredible set of flames shown in the first picture. It is quite rare to find four (4) adjacent flames so precisely formed spaced perfectly symmetrical from each other. If this marble did not have the small flaw in the last picture, it would be a $50 marble. You can get this one mint minus example for a fraction of the price. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR with built-in flash to make sure that every small detail shows up. This marble was made on the 3/4" machine and it's measured size is a nice 0.751" in diameter. Note: the downgrade from perfectly mint is due to the small flake shown in the last picture.
