Description: This beautiful Hutschenreuther Selb Bavarian Plate is a true work of art. Featuring a stunning Sprig of Flowers in the center that are circled with a matte, almost opaque, 1" Soft Blue Rim, on which are painted Darker Blue Lines, Gold Embellishments and a Gold Rim. I have not come across anything like it on the internet, thus I cannot tell it's age. However, based on the History from Wikipedia, I feel safe saying it is at minimum PRE 1970. All of which make it Perfect for any Collector. The Makers Mark is printed on the back and authenticates its maker. (See the History of Hutschenreuther Selb from Wikipedia below) It measures 7.5" and is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION with NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. He had previously worked at the Wallendorf porcelain manufactory in Lichte (Wallendorf). After his death in 1845, the factory was headed by his widow, Johanna Hutschenreuther, and her two sons. A large part of the factory was destroyed by a fire in 1848, but it was rebuilt. From 1860, they produced hand-painted and gilded porcelain products.Lorenz Hutschenreuther, SelbIn 1857, Lorenz Hutschenreuther, the elder son of Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther, established a porcelain factory in Selb.
