Description: HO Brass Union Pacific FEF-1 4-8-4. Produced by Atlas/United Models of Japan for Pacific Fast Mail in 1976. EXCELLENTAs rail traffic ramped up in the years prior to World War II, the Union Pacific added more horsepower to its steam roster. The 20 locos of the FEF-1 class were delivered by Alco in 1937. This model features a number plate on the smokebox front: #809. Most FEF-1’s remained in service until the end of steam on the UP in the late 1950’s. This classic Japanese brass model is well-detailed, and well-built. The model has been stored idle for many years. It runs well, but will benefit from basic servicing. There is very mild wear on the driving wheels - but you have to look very closely! There is also some mild tarnish at some solder joints. The original box is in good condition, although the original packing foam has been replaced. Crank up your paint booth and dust off your credit card!
