It features artwork by the brilliant artist George Gately, and is a classic early example, which is double-signed (once in the image area and then a second time at the bottom). The full piece measures approximately 8 1/2" by 10 1/2", and is in very good condition with some minor use of whiteout in the art. It still has the original syndicate copyright sticker attached near the top. Classic earlier Heath Cliff pieces do not surface very often, so examples like this are tough to find. Often compared with Garfield, those strips tend to be much more available in the marketplace, so don't miss a rare chance at a classic piece of comic strip art. This is one of the earliest Heathcliff pieces we've seen. I don't think we've seen a Heathcliff from 1975 come up for public sale, and probably only a handful from the mid-late 1970's.
