Description: You are looking at an extremely rare Atari 2600 video game of the 1978 horror masterpiece, "HALLOWEEN". This is game is complete and comes with the box, manual, and video game cartridge. The box has sun fading on the bottom portion of the box - see photos as I took photos of both the front and back and all sides. My opinion only but if this was graded, the box would probably grade at 5.5 to 6.5 and the manual would probably grade at 7.0 to 8.0 and the cartridge is the best conditon I have ever see and believe it would grade a 9.4-9.6 (maybe higher). Again, these are only guesses as I am not a professional grader. Overall, I would guess this could could grade out between 7.0-8.0. This video game has been autographed by the Shape himself, Nick Castle (who went on to direct many movies to include "The Last Starfighter" which is one of my favorite Sci-Fi films). His autograph was authenticated by JSA and the serial # is AP42126. There is a tamper proof serial sticker on the game and it comes also with a JSA COA. I also got PJ Soles, who played, Lynda, and was one of Myers' victims. Sandy Johnson, who played young Michael's sister and first victim, has also signed and was Playboy's June 1974 Playmate of the Month. And I also got young Michael, played by Will Sandin, who signed. And lastly, Charles Band, the founder and owner of Wizard Video Games has also signed. When he saw me show him the game, he was shocked and was so proud to tell everyone to come look at it. And the patrons in line to get his autograph were like holly molly. Mr. Band was blown away. I included photos of all 4 actors and the Wizard Video Games Founder and Owner, signing. I have decided to sell because going forward it will be harder for me to chase the signatures I would have liked to add to this historically-relevant, video game. The actors that I would add (again, only my opinion) are: 1)Jamie Lee Curtis; 2) Nancy Loomis; 3)Tommy Lee Wallace (stunt coordinator, also created the Myers mask by converting a 1975 Captain Kirk mask - all his idea; and he played Myers in both the closet scene and at the top of the stairs when Myers slices Laurie in the shoulder with his knife; 4) Tony Moran (demasked Myers); and 5) of course, the Director - John Carpenter. BACKSTORY ON THE GAME'S HISTORY: This game was quite controverial when it was released by Wizard Video Games in 1983 which was during the Atari crash. At the time, there was public backlash about kids were addicted to video games and when suits found out how violent this game was, there was a public outcry and almost no retail chain would carry it and only a few mom and pop stores did but only did so by keeping it behind the counter and out of view. Well very few even knew this game existed so how could you ask for something if you didn't even know it existed and that is why so very few survived. This game was way ahead of its time as it showed Myers behead Laurie aka the babysitter and Myers even kills the children in this game; in both instances, blood would be sprotting from Laurie's head and the children's body. To see it, just go look up game footage online - now remember this was back in 1983 and the technology was still in its infancy but it was pretty hardcore and graphic back then. So how rare is this game? The rarity of this game and it's history does not lie. Its simple logic - Halloween carts (no manual, no box) sell for around $700+ and sometimes fetch over $1000+ today, depending on condition. Do a search on eBay - look at the price of the carts for sale and look at the sold carts via the advance search. Now compare that to a Super Mario 64 or Mike Tyson's Punch Out and so on, you can get those carts for less than $50, sometimes more like $25. So what does that tell you? If people are willing to pay $800-$1000 for Halloween (no box, no manual and just the cartridge) - you tell me how rare it is? Like I said, your research won't lie and it is not hard to figure out. And one last thing, do not go by the price charting historical records online - why? Because they foolishly include reproduction sales in their chart. Yes but true. Haha. They don't account for the real sales which are seldom. And why is it the game is never offered at auction - real head scratcher, isn't it? Reality doesn't lie. This video game has been graded by Wata Games and it is the only one of 5 graded by Wata (how do I know - because they have finally released their population reports - see the 2022 and 2023 images of it that I have provided. CGC and VGA has not graded a single 1. This video game is the highest out only 5 graded. You are looking at true holy grail (on so many levels) - the original "Halloween" 1983 video game based on the 1978 horror masterpiece that was released by Wizard Games. Noted by video game historians as one of the first horror video games ever made and first to decapitate a character and kill children. At a horror convention in Chicago a few years ago, Full Moon held a Q and A Panel about various topics like Wizard Video and the Halloween and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre video games came up. It was said that they believed about 900 games were ever sold on the market and if they had to guess, only about 15% survived. They did not say what they meant by that, were they speaking of the existence of just the cartridge or the complete in box game? I would guess they just meant how many carts survived. I have gone on forums since 2021 stating I am strongly inclined to believe less than 10 of these survived complete in box (box, manual and cart) and it is probably more closer to 8 then to 10. I am aware of 2 others out in the wild and who owns them. Contrast that with a game population of the game, Mario Kart 64 which sold 9.9 million copies. 9.9 million copies vs. 900. Puts it into prospective for you just how rare this game is (crazy, huh?!). Video Games are highly collectible and some command top dollar as recent sales of various Pokemon Game Boy games going for over $75K, Super Mario 3 reaching $130K and Mike Tyson's Punch Out breaking over $45K. These are just naming a few as other common (but sealed) games such as GoldenEye and Contra have also broke $20K+. Yes, the condition of said games are the highest grade or rarest variant - however, they are no where near as rare as Halloween game. Not even 10 complete in box? That is insane. All of the games listed above not named Halloween, are readily available meaning you can just jump online and buy the game in various new or used condition. Try finding a complete in box TCM or Halloween. It is near to impossible and there lies the biggest difference between this game and those I just listed that routinely are breaking $20K+, $40K+, $50K+, $80K, and so on. At the end of the day, this is a great game to add to your horror or gaming collection and is the highest grade one of its kind. And look at the current landscape for Michael Myers - not only his first appearance in a video game but he is a pop culture and horror icon. In 20 years, this game should be in the Smithsonian - it is that rare and special. Shipping via UPS with full insurance and professional packaging is $20. Will come in the hard, clear plastic protector and shipped securely with lots of protection. Great pick-up for someone with the money that wishes to get signed by many of the actors from the film.
