Russ Columbo - next to Bing Crosby - was the greatest male singing star of the 1930s. The bizarre circumstances sourrounding his death have given rise to the conspiracy theory - still to this day - that this was Crosby's plot to get rid of a rival. Russ Columbo Both Bing Crosby and Russ Columbo worked in the Gus Arnheim Orch., - Bing was a vocalist, - Russ was a violinist. Also in 1928, Russ made his movie debut with the Arnheim orchestra. He recorded his own records starting in 1931. He cut his last record on August 31, 1934, just two days before his tragic, accidental death. Russ' singing voice was quite unique and he became the darling of the ladies. His fame might well have surpassed Bing Crosby's had he lived. He is remembered today only for his crooning, not for his fiddle Here in a great Victor Album P-95 in memory of the great singer Russ Columbo – Russ ColumboSongs Made Famous By The Golden Voice Of Russ ColumboLabel: Victor – P 95A1 Call Me Darling (Call Me Sweetheart, Call Me Dear)A2 Save The Last Dance For MeB1 Sweet And LovelyB2 Prisoner Of LoveC1 ParadiseC2 Goodnight SweetheartD1 Auf Wiedersehn My DearD2 Where The Blue Of The Night (Meets The Gold Of The Day)Complete Set VICTOR P-95 Orig Issue circle label Victor 4x10" 78 rpm Record with ORIG Album Condition: EXCELLENT close to PRISTINE light scuffs, plays E+ EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET, album great, binding and sleeves sound, light rubbing at corners, light foxing on back More Great Records on sale right now: CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEE MORE GREAT RECORDS CLICK ON THIS LINK TO SEE ALL ITEMS - VINTAGE BOOKS, VICTROLA and TURNTABLE ITEMS, CDs, Books and DVDs http://shop.ebay.com/carsten_sf/m.html ==== A Quick NOTE ON GRADING AND SHIPPING: As you can see from my feedback, I try hard to earn your POSITIVE FEEDBACK and FIVE STAR RATINGS. If for any reason your transaction was NOT SATISFACTORY, pls contact me and I will work something out with you. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A REASON TO GIVE ME A NEGATIVE RATING or a LOW STAR RATING. Quick note on grading: The Grade (Excellent to Poor, I don't give Mint) refers to the WEAR of the record. Any other defects are stated separately When I listen to a record, I may also give it an aural grade (again E to P), and make a SUBJECTIVE judgment of the pressing quality for hiss and surface noise."EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET" is close to noiseless, like a vinyl pressing."VERY QUIET" is an above average quiet record for a given pressing."Quiet" is a record that is a great example with some noise. These judgments are SUBJECTIVE and will depend one the styli, phonograph etc. you use on your own equipment. Multiple item shipping: I am happy to combine items for shipment in one parcel.
