Description: Genuine Briggs & Stratton 795121 Heavy Duty Electric Starter OEM This is a BRAND NEW GENUINE Briggs & Stratton starter for single cylinder Briggs 6-18hp engines. This is a direct heavy duty replacement for a 499521 (16 tooth/ CCW rotation/ 2-1/4” spaced mounting holes/ plastic gear) It is for plastic or aluminum flywheels. These were purchased in bulk and were heading from the Briggs Starter manufacturing facility to the Briggs engine assembly facility so there will be no box other than the generously padded and packed shipping box. Since it is a heavy-duty starter, it is larger and much stronger than your original starter. The housing cap to cap is 4-1/2”and 7” overall, and yes it will fit where your older, smaller one went. I have sold approximately a 1000 of these and I haven’t had one that did not yet. I ALSO HAVE NEVER HAD ONE RETURNED If your old starter had a 16 tooth plastic gear on it with the same mounting bracket as the one pictured here, then this one will replace it. This one will replace Briggs: 693054, 491766, 497594, 497595, 390838, 391423, 392749, 394804 and it replaces John Deere starters: AM39137, AM37352, LG497595, AM122337. There are starters listed on Ebay for $32.95, but a $32.95 starter is a $32.95 starter that weighs 3.4 pounds these weigh 6 pounds. The Chinese units are not heavy duty and the quality of materials or the craftsmanship is not comparable to a genuine Briggs.
