Description: Name: Asaphellus sp.Age: Lower OrdovicianFormation: Tremadocian (Eastern Cordillera Formation)Location: Northwest ArgentinaSize: Trilobite is 1 inch long I found a flat in storage marked "Trilobites - Tucson '95" which contained a handful of trilobites from Argentina. I will be auctioning them off over the next few weeks. This is a very uncommon trilobite from South America. It is an Asaphellus sp. from the Ordovician of Argentina. This distinct trilobite is outstretched and has decent detail preserved. This bug is somewhat inflated and displays well on the large matrix plate. The fossil has nice, natural orangish coloration still intact. This is an affordable example of this hard-to-find Ordovician trilobite from Argentina. Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported well prior to this law, and can be sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this item. Note: International customers may have to pay a duty at Customs - every country's rules are different.
