Illustrated by 180 Engravings." Written by John Warner Barber. Published and Sold by John W. Barber, New Haven, Connecticut, 1836. First Edition. Hardcover, bound in full leather, but the spine has deteriorated and the spine backstrip is nearly totally gone. Front cover has separated from the boo and rear cover has been taped to the spine. There is moderate to heavy spotting/foxing to the frontis illustration, and intermittent light to moderate foxing internally. The all important color map of Connecticut is present--it shows a few small tears and some old tape repairs. However, the map remains in Good condition. Book is complete and unmarked. I will call this copy Fair, at best. It measures 6 X 9, 560 pages. THIS IS A VERY SCARCE TITLE--a few original copies can be found on other internet booksites for upwards of $750, with a few Fair copies selling for as much as $300!!!!!!! Contemporary reprints are available and selling for upwards of $124!!!! This is a copy that should be restored and I will offer it for the very reasonable price of only $65.00 plus $6.00 S&H in the US.
