Geographia Street Map of Brooklyn. Published c. 1930-50 (?), New York by Geographia Map Co. Large folding color lithographed urban plan/ city map. Text in English. The key locates swimming & wading pools, playgrounds, the 8th Ave. independent subway line and elevated lines. Publisher's pictorial card stock paper wrappers. Great large map worthy of framing for display. Map is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Map and folder is not new or in "new" condition. Covers gently rubbed and age worn, mostly light or inoffensive signs of handling and time but nothing severe or unsightly, map and folder remain overall attractive. Paper is gently toned, still clean, closed edge tear from middle right (essentially invisible when viewing map), still sound internally. At the top edge of the map someone has written in pencil a street number with arrow and circle (erasable). Still attractive on the shelf. The map displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive. The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 35+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books, maps and printed ephemera of all types and genres.
