Description: Brass British Bulldog WW1 ? Door Knocker Tommy Soldier SMLE Lee Enfield Helmet This door knocker features a British Bulldog dressed up as a British Tommy standing in front of his sentry box which is the knockers back plate. There are various markings which are very hard to decipher but I believe there are the remnants of a Reg No on the back plate, lettering on the underside of the bulldog and some lettering at the base on the front of the back plate. The knocker has been riveted on as opposed to screws which gives more credence to its old age. L 5" (12.5cm) Weight 140g This item is vintage/antique comes with a history, so will have wear commensurate to its age.
