Description: Brad Keeler Calif Pottery #18 Vintage 8 1/4" Yellow Finch Bird Figurine 1941-52 Click images to enlarge Description Brad Keeler California Pottery #18 Vintage 8 1/4" Pink & Yellow Finch Bird Perched On Branch Figurine 1941-1952 This one is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks. NOTE: There is a hard-to-notice paint touch-up on the wing (SEE Picture with Pen). There is some very fine natural crazing throughout I had to use my magnifier to see. Very Nice Brad Keeler California Pottery hard to find Red and Yellow Finch Bird Figurine. The bird's head is a redish pink color and the rest of the body is yellow. This has a shiny lacquered finish. The bird is perched on a tree branch and looks like he is ready to take flight. The base has Brad Keeler impressed and the number 18. For more information SEE picture #10. This measures 8 1/4" High x 4" Wide. I have provided many pictures to show the condition of this Figurine. BRAD KEELER COMPANY INFORMATION: Brad Keeler was born in Lincoln, California in 1913 to parents Mary and Rufus B. Keeler. His first job was for Padre Potteries. He built his first studio at his home in Glendale and began making what they called "Bradster" pottery, as he was in partnership with a friend named Webster. In the beginning, Webster was the primary modeler and Brad did the mold work. When it came time to expand Brad rented space from American Pottery in East Los Angeles, and after WWII began, and the Japanese imports ceased, his work sold very well. Even after the war ended in 1945 his business was still going strong, so he decided to expand again and began constructing a factory in San Juan Capistrano. Tragically, in early 1952, Brad suffered a heart attack at the age of 39. After his death the business floundered and it was forced to close its doors. The factory soon after became home to Twin Winton ceramics and it is now a local landmark. (The pictures are of the exact pieces you will receive). Photography Props & photo stands are not included.
