Description: Nice collection of books, all from the same individual, who was previously a professor of Classics. Most of these books have some kind of a marking. I will describe each book briefly so you have an idea of the condition because I was not able to photograph the inside of all of these books. Photos can be provided if needed. I will use the authors last name to denote the book. I am describing: Barker - this is an old Oxford hardcover with a discard mark and personal book plate. This book dates to 1946. Decent binding, all pages are holding very well. Former library book, over 400 pages with a nice index. Pages inside are actually very clean, very occasional minor marking in the text. not moldy and not musty. Penguin Classics - glossy and Square and tight, price and name on the FFP, pages are a little toned, binding is excellent and tight, no markings noticed otherwise. Ackrill - Oxford, paperback, excellent binding, some minor markings or minor underlining, but 98% free of marks, the markings do not interfere with the text and lightly done. Square and tight. Butcher - 1951 Dover paperback with a good binding. Price in pencil, 99% free of marks with only a minor marking here or there, good index in the back. Covers are toned. Hope - Michigan University press, some markings on the FFEP including a name and price and some scribbles (as if the person were trying to get their pen to work), but small markings. Underlining throughout the text, some significant amounts of notation in the margins on occasion. All text is easily readable. Good Binding. Jones - Stanford University paperback, Square and tight, no noticed markings. Witt - Cornell University hardcover, name on the FFP, some notation on the rear end paper, some occasional underlining on approximately 20 pages, but all text is readable. Preus - State University of New York, paperback, Square and tight, no noticed markings. This is an anthology featuring the work of various scholars. Furth - price in pencil, glossy, and square and tight, Hacket publishing, large font edition, very clean inside with about five or so pages having a pencil marking, this book was not heavily used. Barnes - glossy Cambridge companion. Notation on the rear end paper, some underlining or minor notation in the margins,, but only on approximately 20 or so pages. Very nice book, not heavily used.
