Description: RARE GENUINE ARGENTINE MARINES HELMET LINER MADE BY HAARGAZ LTD. IN ISRAEL MALVINAS FALKLAND 1982 WARCIRCA 1978 These liners made by Haargaz Ltd in Israel before 1978, were bought exclusively for Argentine Marines, under the command of Argentine Navy. Maybe they were purchase to be used together with Hong-Kong's Diaward shells bought by Argentine Navy only. Due its sizes, they fits easily in WWII and Vietnam periods US M1 shells, as well as in german made shells for Dutch Navy used in Argentina as well, but are too large for argentine made FM shells. As most Haargaz liners, some are marked S4, some has a number only, most are blank like this one.A "S4" marked liner is also available, white painted for MP use. Construction structure is quite different of other liners used by argentine armed forces, as argentine made FM liners or WWII and Vietnam periods US M1 liners. Rivets are made of bronze with rounded head, quite differents of rivets used in american and argentine made liners. It has thick rivets where the liner chinstraps is suppossed to be fixed, but they are too wide for the garter hooks of usual leather chinstraps.Despite to have the "A yokes" with belt loop-type connection as most paratrooper liners, they were used by Marines for their usual battle tasks. This liner is complete, except for the five-point (aluminium eyelets) chinstrap with doble-strap chin cup that is lost. Some rust can be found on steel hardware. The original israeli neck-band and head-band (sweatband) were replaced by US ones (Argentina received american military material during '60s and '70s under the MAP). Some few small white paint chips can be seen on head band. The liner was painted over the original matte OD7 color with an unusual glossy blue color, it has a label inside made with a sanitary adhesive canvas tape marked with ballpoint pen ink "LINEA TIRO" (= Firing Line/Lane), so it is supposed that it was used by Instructors or Inspectors in a rifle & pistol Navy shooting range or artillery practice fields. The blue paint is chiped in some parts where the green color can be seen, it also has some scratched. This model was used by Argentine Marines during the Malvinas / Falklands South Atlantic 1982 War, as several of these liners are in british collections as war souvenirs.
