Description: This antique vintage composition marionette puppet is a gem and the handmade details make it a must-have for those who appreciate the artistry of old-fashioned toys. Her body is approximately 15" tall; the head and neck composition portion is around 4.5" (including the bottom portion under the clothing). She is made of wood, textiles and composition materials. Composition puppets were created in the late 1890s but were most popular in the 1920s to 1940s, and based on the wear in the composition materials, I think she is most likely from that era. That is just my estimate, though; buyer to verify, if interested. The puppet is in great overall shape, given its age, but clearly could do with restoration to the composition materials on her head if there are any enthusiasts looking for a winter project. She also needs to be restrung. Regardless, she's a beautiful piece of history that would make a good talking piece in any home. Sold as is.
