Description: A fantastic antique pen and ink drawing of a scene from Faust. Drawn in an oval and signed HG 1849 in the picture. The picture is mounted on some blue grey backing card. On the card it is signed Etta Gipps, which would logically make the HG stand for Henrietta Gipps. This possibly means the drawing is by Henrietta Gipps Gauntlett, who was married to Henry John Gauntlett. Henry was a gifted organist who worked with the likes of Mendelssohn. The light card the drawing is on is 21.5cm by 17.5cm. Good condition
