Description: This attractive oyster plate is a bit unusual with six scallop or clam shell designed feet on the bottom. Because it is unmarked it's age would be prior to 1899 and most oyster plates such as this date to between 1880 and 1895. Oysters were a staple during the Victorian era. Picture 6 does show a small impressed mark which looks fish shaped. This particular plate is in very good condition for it's age. No chips or cracks but there is typical age related crazing. It measures 9.5" across. Any white spots in the photos is glare from the overhead light. Please see all photos to judge condition for yourself and ask if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
