Description: This is a collection of approximately 180 antique German toy soldiers. Some are marked "Lineol" and some are marked "Elastolin". I know nothing about toys and even less about the composition of Lineol or Elastolin. All I know is that these names are stamped into the bottom of most of these toy soldiers. There may be a few other names on them, but I do not want to constantly handle these items. All of these are from the collection of the late American Artist Alfred Simson who lived in Newport, Rhode Island at his mansion called "Villa Du Soliel". These were part of his estate when he died. I have been told that some of the solders are from the WW 1 period and some from the WW2 period. I have to make it clear that it is up to potential bidders to use your own knowledge as to what they are when bidding. These are fragile and I will not accept returns. The conditions vary from poor to fair because of the age of each. They are offered "as is". The count is probably higher than 180 but I do not want to keep handling them. I hope that the photographs which I posted will be helpful to anyone interested. I will package them with care and will insure them for the purchase price.. No International shipping.
