Description: French 19th Century Bronze Portico Clock with a Striking Movement, in Fully Working Condition Bronze portico clocks are considerably rarer and more valuable than the wooden ones. I have sold a few on eBay, usually in around $1400 range when in good condition. This clock, however, has been repainted gold, so I am listing it much lower. Paint can be stripped, of course and I do not know the state of the gilding underneath, I expect it to be tarnished, since someone went to the trouble of painting it. Paint job is well done, as much as I would have preferred it to be left alone and not painted. The movement could use good cleaning, but it is fully functional. Ornate machined silvered bronze dial has wear to the surface and numerals. Very ornate pendulum. I will include a key. This clock, like any other pendulum based clock, has to be put in-beat when setting it up after shipping, otherwise it may not run.
