Description: While this piece does not show heavy use and wear, the locomotive has some slight tarnish. The foam has completely deteriorated so she will be shipped bubble wrapped with no foam. It does not appear the foam has transferred to the brass finish however. I test ran this piece on 9/25/24 and she runs in both directions though she is a bit noisy and she has a squeak in forward owing to the fact that her gears are dry. I'd suggest a light lubrication and wheel cleaning followed by a break-in period to see if any further adjustments are needed. Overall a fine piece! Box has wear typical of a 1970's locomotive that has been stored for some time. Sold AS-IS! More details: All brass locomotives typically require some minor adjustments and tuning to achieve optimal performance. You may also want to consider more modern coreless motor upgrades and a DCC and lighting installation. If you need a referral for a DCC upfitter or for a custom/pro-painter, please let me know and I can make a reliable recommendation! I can also make a recommendation for a pro-painter!
