On October 20, 1990, the Reds completed a sweep of the Oakland Athletics to win the World Series. The Reds were only the fourth team in MLB history to win a wire-to-wire championship. This cel began with a drawing from Myron Waldman. This drawing was then converted to a hand-painted cel with ltihographic background was authorized by King Features Syndicate. Myron Waldman. Waldman (deceased) had over 70 years of experience in the field of animation, having worked as a head animator at Fleischer Studios in the 1930's during the Golden Age of Animation and later at Paramounts' Famous Studios. He is renowned for his work on some of the best Popeye, Betty Boop and Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoons.
