Description: DESCRIPTION 2014 Canada 100 Year Anniversary Declaration of World War I Proof Silver Dollar 3WA7 Up for sale is a Canadian silver dollar coin issued to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Canada's entry into the Great War on the side of Great Britain and the Triple Entente. On August 4, 1914, the Canadian government issued a declaration of war against the German Empire. Thousands showed up at their local recruiting stations eager to “do their bit.” The reverse of this coin displays men in uniform, bidding goodbye to loved ones before they boarded trains destined for ships to carry them to the European battlefields. The war would rage until the armistice of November 11, 1918. This coin comes in its original packaging from the Royal Canadian Mint. Please view photos and feel free to ask questions.
