Description: Our client's magnificent antique (19th century) French gilt bronze mantle clock in the neoclassical style is finely sculpted, cast and gilt, featuring the figure of Erato, the Greek muse of music and lyric poetry, holding lyre beside sheet of music, with frieze decorated with procession of cherubs (putti) flanking Erato. 15 3/4 inches tall. Movement apparently unsigned. In good condition with light scratches, rubbing wear, scuffs and nicks. Pendulum and key missing. Not tested for working condition.
