Description: Beautiful 19th century framed and hand-painted Coat of Arms of the Coachbuilders' National Association, founded in 1834. Features the Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers coat of arms on one side, with a blue shield with a chevron between three coaches, and the Royal Coat of Arms on the other, used from 1837 to 1952 used by Queen Victoria, King George III and George IV. Flanked on either side by horse argents, bridled and harnessed. Above with Phoebus in his glory sitting in a chariot through a cloud with a banner reading Surgit Post Nubila Phoebus (The Sun Rises After The Clouds). Below painted Roses and Thistle, representing Royalty, and four intertwined hands with a banner reading TRIUMPANT WE BRAVELY DEFEND. The piece is framed under glass with an interior gilt edge and burl wood period frame. Frame measures just under 14" wide x 12 1/2" high, sight is 10" wide x 8 3/4" high. In overall Excellent antique condition with some minor paint loss, the piece has not been examined outside of the frame.
