1984 Olympic Games Cycling Sprint HAND SIGNED cover ex Prof Arnold Beckett

Description: 23cm by 11cm Postal Cover from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games HAND SIGNED by 3 Competitors from the Men's Cycling Sprint event as follows: Vincenzo Ceci of Italy. Rolf Golz of West Germany who won Silver in the Individual Pursuit and a Bronze in the Team event. The final signature is unidentified. The cover which is a sealed Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee envelope bears 2 special Olympic stamps including one featuring Cycling and special postmarks dated 3rd and 5th August as shown. The original owner ( see below ) has written the names by the autographs and also details of the event to the top edge as shown. There are some light general bends or creases possibly from being mailed but otherwise generally good condition. This cover was signed for and owned by Professor Arnold Beckett the IOC International Olympic Committee member who was a pioneer in Drug Testing in Sport and who was involved in testing Athletes at the highest levels before a falling out with the IOC caused him to ' switch sides ' and he began to represent Athletes he felt had been unfairly treated in drugs test related matters. Professor Beckett amassed a large collection of autographs which was sold at a major London Sports Memorabilia sale and this is from that collection, I WILL PROVIDE COPIES OF MY AUCTION PAPERWORK TO ACT AS PROVENANCE that this is a genuine and original signature.
