Designated as the F-Body by General Motors, the second-generation Camaro and Firebird retained the rear-wheel drive pony car platform and style of long hood and short deck, giving them that balanced look. When optioned with top-performance packages, these cars were formidable street machines that graced our neighborhoods, high school parking lots, and driveways throughout the 1970's and early 80's. On this warm fall evening in 1979, with the end of the free spirited decade just around the corner, the crowd is out enjoying fast cars and fun times!
