Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1969 Press Photo Statue of Mikhail Lomonosov, founder of Moscow University This is an original press photo. Moscow University is an immense, almost overwhelming building, in a "sort of nightmare Gothic," constructed between 1949 and 1953. It stands on a sprawling, flat site near the Lenin Hills which overlook Moscow. Standing before it is a statue of Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765), the founder of the university, which is regarded as Russia's showplace of higher education. The university reflects the Soviets' new (unreadable) on producing a select academic elite, a trend which is replacing the traditional egalitarianism in education. Photo measures 8 x 11.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-03-1969. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Historic Images Part Number: hca25660 Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
