Wall , Brooklyn NY " Although not dated, this color lithograph plate was probably clipped from a seed / nursery catalog printed in the late 1890s. Lithographer H. M. Wall produced a series of chromolithograph flower prints in the 1890s. " Brodiaea ", also known by the common name cluster-lilies , is a genus of flowering plants. 1. Tritelia laxa ( formerly Brodiaea laxa ) is a herbaceous perennial grown from bulbs or tubers. The plant is native to Northern California , where it is a considered a common wildflower , and can often be found in heavy soils, open forests, mixed conifer or foothill woodlands, and grasslands on clay soils. Its common names include Brodiaea , Grass Nut , Ithuriel's Spear , Long Rayed Triteleia , Pretty Face , Triplet Lily , Wild Hyacinth . 2. Brodiaea laxa coccinea ( also known as Dichelostemma ida-maia ), " Firecracker Brodiaea " is a California native wildflower with unusual showy crimson tubular flowers with green reflexed tips. It is pollinated by hummingbirds and also butterflies find it attractive. In nature it is found at the edge of woods in areas of partial sunlight. Highly prized as a cut flower. -------- On the other side of the scrapbook page are two old clippings : 1. " We Are But Children ", an illustration of boys and girls singing , the older of them holding song books. 2.
