Description: For your consideration is this 1879 First Edition book "East Hartford, Its History and Tradition", written by Joseph O. Goodwin. The book has a wealth of information on East Hartford (Conn), from when the Native Americans were there, to early occupancy, the Revolution, town history, burying grounds, ecclesiastical history, industries, etc. Among others, an interesting chapter on "The Town's Poor". According to the Preface, Mr. Goodwin worked on this book for at least ten years. The book is 6" x 9 1/4" and has 242 pages plus the index. It is in exceptionally clean condition, with all of the pages tight and also very clean. A little corner scuffing on the boards and on the top and bottom of the spine. You won't find one any nicer, and a First Edition also! I appreciate your interest. I will be listing more books on Connecticut's history including the ones on already. Please keep checking, as I am more than glad to combine shipping.
