Cooley to the Kappa Sigma Epsilon Fraternity's Initiation of the members from the Class of 1864 I'm certain this is from Yale because it was the ONLY school I could find online with a Kappa Sigma Epsilon fraternity as early as the 1860s; the University's social clubs are known for seniors initiating only juniors into its most prestigious clubs and organizations (though the school did away with Greek latter fraternities later in the 19th century) and because of the 2 "lost lambs" shown on the verso of the card (viz Yale's famed Whiffenpoof Song). Besides, Henry Ely Cooley of Newton, Massachusetts is listed as a student in the Yale 1862 academic catalog, a copy of which can be found o n l i n e. Card measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches and is printed by old fashioned letterpress on pink card stock. As of 14 July 2023, I could find no other listing for this invite @ ebay, either current or completed listings Moderate wear but VERY GOOD - especially for its age, _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ (the fine print ...
