The Knickerbocker was a literary magazine based in New York City founded in 1833 by Charles Fenno Hoffman and running until 1865. The magazine was primarily focused on the fine arts and full length biographical sketches, with occasional news pieces. It is considered to be one of the first proto-environmental magazines in the United States. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired. FORN-SHELF-0681-BB-0223-JR950
