Description: Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item: From the New Cumberland Collection of 1793-1814 US large cents, complete by Sheldon Variety S-1 through S-295 including several NC varieties! NCC-169: 1798 S-156 Draped Bust, Reverse of 1795/1796 with Single Leaves, R5+, PCGS VF Details, Noyes F12 net G5. A known example, recorded in Numistudy V6 as #32013 and graded F12 net G5 Scudzy and tied for CC21-22, and lists the pedigree as TR (Tom Reynolds) LB (Long Beach) 10/92. Sorry, I will disagree with Noyes on this one. The coin is certainly dark and has some obvious scattered nicks, but it is certainly NOT Scudzy and in fact the next owner might even consider it Average once the coin is in hand because it's certainly better than my photos. Comes with a yellow envelope from Tom Reynolds who says VG10 net VG7, and I agree with his assessment. Not perfect but very sharp and still attractive. Late die state (LDS) with a strong die crack from the lower drapery crossing the bust tip into the rim below. PCGS Environmental Damage VF Detail S-156 Reverse of 1795 #36005.97/47927454. Ex-D&S Coins via Tom Reynolds 10/28/99. Thank you for checking out this item! Make sure you add it to your watchlist and also subscribe to my eBay store to receive newsletters and promotions!
